Michelle Is a Marvel!

Trans performer/director/producer Michelle Austin just took home a trophy from the Toronto International Porn Festival for her docu-porn "Fifty Shades Of A Tranny," in which she shares an intimate view of sexual encounters with her real-life FTM trans partner Dicky Johnson. Her company Michelle Austin Films' latest release is "Transcest", a taboo relations-themed movie with a whole lotta trans action in there. I dig how Michelle makes the porn and the world she wants to live in with her own hard work and creativity.

What were you like back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?

"Well since I was originally a boy in a small Baptist town in Texas, it was hard to figure who I was. My friends would tell you I was fun and outgoing. I did a lot of theater and was very involved in extracurricular activities. I hung out with the drama kids, but I was friends with many other kids who weren't in drama. I really didn't date in school."

Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?

"My dad was heavy into porn. My brothers and I would sneak and watch his VHS tapes. Some stars I enjoyed were Nina Hartley and Traci Lords. I don't really remember movie titles."

What kind of scene have you found is your favorite kind to do so far?

"Working with trans men (FTM) - the chemistry and work in those scene are my favorite ones."

What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?

" I have been dying to do a scene with Danni Daniels [the trans performer] - her and I have talked about it but never have had the time or been in the same place to do one!"

Who is your favorite performer to work with so far and why?

"My favorite cis male performer would have to be Kai Bailey. He just enjoys what he does. My favorite trans female performer is Shiri Trap. She is new and a great performer. My pick for trans male performer would be Marc Dean; he's new but he has tons of potential and the on-screen scene we did was great!"

You respond to your fans a lot on Twitter. What do you like most about talking to your fans on social media?

"I like letting them voice their thoughts on stuff I've done and getting to know what they enjoy seeing."

How did you become a porn performer? What led you down that career path?

"I was asked by a Grooby photographer and at that time in my life, I was ready to do it. I was ready for something different and to express myself sexually."

What do you most want to achieve in the industry?

"I want to change the game for trans performers by allowing body types and trans male performers be seen more. I want to have my company be a leader in that change with my business partner Dicky Johnson. I want to have FTM porn become a big part of the industry!"

What do you think that people assume about trans porn performers that simply is not true?

"That we're not safe in our personal lives. We are more than just a fantasy. We are humans who have normal lives and fight to be heard and seen."

What do you love most about producing your own porn?

"I love that I control and own 90 percent of my content online and that I get a voice in what I do and that I get express my sexuality through my work."

What do you think are “must-have” DVDs for your fans?

"Right now would be all the 'Trans Men Adventures' DVDs, 'Fifty Shades of a Tranny', 'Michelle Austin: Trans Porn Star,' and 'Transcest'."

What do you like to do for fun?

"I'm pretty laid back; I prefer to watch a movie at home or at theater over going out. I enjoy camping and spending time with my family."

What are your favorite fetishes to explore on camera?

"Right now, spanking has my interest."

Who are your role models in porn?

"Gia Darling because she was a woman who controlled her career and was 100 percent a business woman!"

What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

"'Beauty and The Beast', 'Hidden Figures' and 'Snowden'."

How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

"I rarely watch porn but stars I do like seeing if I catch something are Joanna Angel, Small Hands, Misty Stone, and of course, jessica drake."

What is coming up for you?

"I am planning on shooting a parody of an '80's classic this summer which I'm excited about. I am also finally finishing up my project 'FTM Hunter' and working on the fourth 'Trans Men Adventures'."

If you could fuck any celebrity, who would it be?

"Jake Gyllenhaal."

What single piece of advice would you give a brand new trans porn performer?

"Know who you are and be ready to have a tough skin. Some people won't like you. You can't please everyone and make sure this is what you really want."
