Veteran porn star Sovereign Syre wrote and stars in Adult Time/Pure Taboo's "Transgressions: A Sovereign Syre Story" directed by AVN Hall of Famer Joanna Angel. It also stars Casey Kisses and Stirling Cooper and holy fuck, it is a compelling, emotionally charged and sexy story. Here's what Syre had to say about this release.

Hello, Sovereign! How are you doing? How are things with you?
"Things are great! Relatively speaking. Sheltering in place and washing my hands a lot...like everyone else should be doing. It's given me a chance to put lots of content on my Onlyfans.com/sovereignsyre and on my patreon.com/sovereignsyre. I have a new web series on Youtube so I've been working on editing all that content. Check it out over at youtube.com/sovereignsyre. I have a show called Important Adults that I've been nurturing since last year."

Congrats on the release of Adult Time/Pure Taboo's Trangressions: A Sovereign Syre Story! How does it feel having it out there in the world?
"It's so awesome to see something that I wrote on the screen. I've always wanted to write my own stories and direct my own adult fare. Adult Time was amazing through the whole process, from pitch to treatment to casting, to promotion. They really centered my vision and I appreciate them taking some risks to tell a story that was different...that had some real emotional complexity and nuance."

What do you love most about how the final product came together?
"I'm an independent creator, so I'm used to making something from nothing and really having to be industrious and resourceful when it comes to making something manifest, and usually it's not even close to what I was going for. Having a budget and resources available to make my vision a reality is a huge change for me, so getting to see my story realized with Mike Quasar on camera, with Joanna directing, production value, an amazing cast...I mean, it's amazing."

How was being directed by Joanna Angel for this project?
"I've know Joanna since before I was in the industry; we met in a bar in Brooklyn in 2009. I've always thought she was so cool and I've always had so much respect for her as an entrepreneur and all around boss. And she's so fucking funny. She's a great writer and she cares. She took my notes on the script and turned the treatment into an amazing story and she was receptive to anything that I wanted and got the complexity of the story. I mean, she's just fantastic and a great director that cares about performers."

What do you love most about Casey Kisses' performance in this? She is the fucking coolest.

"She's a really sensual performer and passionate, she matched the sex to the energy and saw that this was important to me and really gave herself to the project. The sex was so hot. She really likes girls and that's always the best when you're working with a girl that really likes girls."

Stirling Cooper is an incredible actor. What did you like most about what he brought to this scene?
"I'm friends with Stirling and he's intelligent and smart people make good actors because they can build a backstory for a character quickly, which in porn is a requirement. We're usually not blessed with a lot of time to rehearse and think about characters, and usually that's not called for. He represented to me masculine grace and a hard edge, I wanted my husband to be a typical male, perfect, strong and unreachable. It was really important for the audience to want his love as much as my character does, and Stirling is someone that can just walk on camera and you want him to like you and make you feel safe."

What do you like most about working for Adult Time/Pure Taboo?
"Everyone is so responsive and generous. Every step of the way they are trying to accommodate and make things happen. I was so happy, I asked if I could try my hand at directing and we've been figuring out how that could happen in the future. I have so much respect for what they're doing, really centering the performers and listening to us and trying to create stories and sets where we feel comfortable to really explore and express ourselves."

What do you think is the sexiest moment in Transgressions? What turns you on in there?

"The funnest part was getting to have a complete breakdown and destroy a room. I think the real transgression is a woman getting to be violent and angry and lose control. It's the ultimate taboo, watching a woman scream and rage and break things."

So what else is coming up for you? What should your fans be on the lookout for?
"I have a show on Youtube called Important Adults where I drive my friends around and ask them for life advice. I've had a lot of my porn friends and also my friends from stand up. There is a podcast version of the show on iTunes and Spotify. I'm a comedian, I've been doing stand up for four years now and I'm putting together my hour for an album. I"m being featured on a documentary for a huge network that should be out in the fall, but I can't say more just yet, but it involves my stand up."
