Performer/director Chelsea Poe directs, produces, and stars in her latest trans lesbian star showcase Chelsea Submits 2 for Chelsea Poe Productions/Trouble Films. Hello, Chelsea! How have you been? How are things?

"Things have been super wild getting back into the normal swing of porn in 2023. I've been kind of going nonstop since AVN Awards, shooting my first Public Disgrace and exploring some of my options with trans inclusion in BDSM porn and my options in mainstream Hollywood films."

Congrats on the release of Chelsea Poe Productions/Trouble Films' Chelsea Submits 2! How does it feel seeing it out there for your fans to enjoy?

"It's such a relief to put out another film, it's been nearly a year in the making, so I'm still kind of going down my daily list of things I have to do to get the film out even though it just came out. I'm so proud of every scene in this film, and that Trouble Films gives me a platform to keep making trans-woman-centered BDSM that I was told by so many other companies it was impossible. Getting to see trans women relate to it so hard and see the way they engage in BDSM on screen is extremely important to me."

What do you love most about trans lesbian sex?

"Well, if no one has caught on, I'm a huge trans dyke. Shooting lesbian porn is always going to be part of what I'm making in this industry. Getting to be a visible lesbian on the red carpet at AVN yearly is something I'm extremely proud of and truly feel is an honor. I feel like this point in my life the porn I watch and porn I make completely overlaps. I honestly feel like lesbian BDSM is one of the purest performances in our industry. It's clearly a performance but there's a moment where it's still a girl tying you up and beating you up and no matter how much acting is in a scene, that moment is what keeps me engaged as a viewed and performer."

What scene is your favorite in this?

"I really love "holes", with Ruby Riots. We were so lucky to get a full-face latex hood from Stockroom and really got to go down the whole gimp sort of roleplay for the scene. It was nearly 80 or 90 degrees in the dungeon already shooting in California in July which made it by far the most difficult to shoot because I had to remove the hood due simply because of the heat multiple times and we had to be a bit more flexible on what the original plan for the scene was due to the heat. I think it's such a hot scene and also the hardest to shoot which made it really special to me. Seeing the edits of it made me completely lose my mind because what's not sexy about two femmes covered in latex doing BDSM?"

What do you enjoy most about directing?

"I think particularly with directing BDSM, it gives me a space to explore all the scary fantasies I have in a safe and controlled way. I had BDSM relationships in my life where I tried to plan these large or complex scenes and after would regret not having anything from it. In 2019, something clicked for me and was like, 'make these things into your art and get all these experiences of fear, joy, pain and everything else into your work'. I feel like directing in BDSM has really allowed me to have full control of my sexuality in a safe way where I can explore stuff that would be harder to do in real life."

If you could do a scene with any woman ever, who would you want to work with?

"I moved cross country to start camming at the Kink Armory when I was in my early 20s and the women there who really influenced me were people like Princess Donna, Bobbi Starr and when Sasha Grey shot with Kink. By the time I got there, all three weren't actively working there so I still really adore all of their work and would love to work with Princess Donna in the future in whatever way is possible. Public Disgrace really opened my sexuality up from being like 'I'm a lesbian' to 'Wow, if it's a BDSM scene, there's all these other parts of my sexuality that get opened up in my head'. I think outside of that I would really love to work with Kayden Kross in some way, I'm still extremely thankful for her taking on Femme 4 Femme on TrenchcoatX when I made my first push for trans inclusion. Kayden is also making stuff that is really shaping the future of porn."

What makes you happiest these days? What always makes you smile?

"I feel like I've been super happy just doing the daily life at home with my fiancé and my cat. I feel like the pandemic really made me figure out a work/life balance that I didn't have before. I'm so blessed to have this career where I can travel around the world and make art with people I look up to but I equally love feeling at home in my city with my family/friends."

What is coming up for you? What should your fans be on the lookout for?

"This is a really big month for me, I have my Public Disgrace-style dinner party scene coming out middle of the month and doing some travel to shoot for my next BDSM project. I feel truly back into the swing of shooting and producing content so I'm very excited to get to share it with the world."
